Asbestos Surveys Explained
The old Types 1, 2 & 3 asbestos surveys were replaced in 2010 with the Managment survey & Refurbishment/demoltion survey.
An asbestos management survey is the standard survey used to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspected asbestos containing materials that could be disturbed during normal day to day occupancy, including foreseeable routine and simple maintenance works. However, any demolition, maintenance, upgrading or refurbishment works that will disturb the fabric of the building will also require an area-specific, more instrusive refurbishment/demolition survey carrying out prior to the works commencing.
