HSE Investigate Welsh Hospital re Asbestos Exposure
Up to 30 maintenance staff could have been exposed to asbestos at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth, say health officials.
Hywel Dda Health Board said it was trying to trace former workers and was offering screening tests.
The board said asbestos had not entered public areas and patients and visitors were safe.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is conducting an inquiry into the “management of asbestos”

However, any demolition, maintenance, upgrading or refurbishment works that will disturb the fabric of the building will also require an area-specific refurbishment/demolition asbestos survey carrying out prior to the works commencing.
